Have you ever wanted to know more about the granular features of Colorado’s Human Services Allocations and Formulas? If so, this 35 page document is a terrific primer! More than half of the document consists of charts showing the county by county allocation amounts for critical funding streams like county administration, adult protective services, child welfare, and Colorado Works (Colorado’s Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program). Additionally, the document provides a high level explanation of what the funds are used for and the factors that are included in the allocation formulas themselves. (Many dedicated county commissioners and human services staff spend enormous amounts of time working on these formulas to ensure they address the needs they are intended to help and are distributed fairly throughout the state.) This document is one of CCI’s staff favorites!
